The award was created in 2008 by the Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) Certification Council of the FEA to honor Margo McDonnell, CES® who spearheaded the industry’s efforts to launch the voluntary certification and continuing education program and recognizes a Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) that has demonstrated extraordinary service to the qualified intermediary industry.  The award has been presented annually since.
While presenting the award on behalf of the CES® Certification Council, Ms. McDonnell stated “It was an honor to have received this award in 2008 but it truly is a privilege to have the opportunity to recognize fellow CES® Designees who have shined as a beacon in our industry.  Sanna Phinney has been involved in the CES® Certification Council since its inception in 2002 and has been an integral part of its success.  She succeeded me as Chair in 2008 and quickly demonstrated unwavering leadership as the industry weathered very challenging times as a result of the economical downturn.  Her tireless and selfless efforts not only sustained but grew the CES® Program and exemplify what this award represents.”
