Kristen McVeigh Awarded CES® Designation

May 23, 2022, COLLEGEVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- 1031 CORP., a nationwide qualified intermediary, announced Kristen McVeigh is one of just four exchange professionals to earn the designation of Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) in the first half of the year. The use of CES® is an earned accreditation to be leveraged after meeting the examination and work-experience criteria established by the CES® Certification Council of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA).

Kristen is an Exchange Officer in the Collegeville, Pennsylvania branch office. “Kristen quickly developed a strong knowledge of Section 1031 and its application. She uses this knowledge to ensure her clients have a smooth and successful exchange transaction while keeping the process easy. She is a stickler for detail and enjoys seeing the exchange transaction from beginning to end,” stated Margo McDonnell, President of 1031 CORP. and a charter member of the CES® Certification Council that developed and implemented the CES® Program in 2003.

The FEA is the national trade organization representing the Qualified Intermediary (QI) industry and the interests of consumers who use these services. FEA also represents the legal and tax advisors and affiliated businesses directly involved in Section 1031 like-kind exchanges.

The Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) Program is a voluntary certification and continuing education program offered through the FEA explicitly designed for 1031 tax-deferred exchange practitioners. The comprehensive examination covers 1031 exchange-related topics designed to challenge the candidate’s knowledge of exchange rules and their competency in performing the necessary daily activities of an exchange accommodator company. The 120-question examination also focuses on those ethical issues present when any third party controls the funds of another. Individuals are eligible to apply to sit for the examination after three years of full-time, hands-on experience facilitating like-kind exchanges.
